Frequently asked questions

Questions about PasteAnyLink itself — what it costs, what it keeps, and what it deliberately will not do. Questions about a specific platform are answered on that platform’s own page.

Questions and answers

Is it free, and is there a catch?

Yes, free, with no account and no install. The site is paid for by advertising. Some higher-quality options may ask you to watch a short ad first, but there is always a free download available on every page — we never leave you with nothing.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. There is no account, no extension and no app. Paste a link, pick a quality, save the file. It works the same in any modern browser on any device.

Do you store the videos I download?

No. Files are fetched from the platform and streamed straight through to your device — nothing is written to disk here and no copy is kept. That is both a privacy position and a legal one: we are not a host.

Do you keep a record of the links I paste?

A link is held briefly in a cache so that a popular post does not have to be looked up thousands of times over, and it expires within minutes. It is not tied to you, and no account or profile exists to tie it to. The privacy policy sets out the detail.

Is downloading this content legal?

It depends entirely on what you download and what you then do with it. Saving your own content, or content you have permission to use, is normally fine. Saving someone else’s work and republishing it is not, whatever tool you used. We provide the mechanism; the responsibility for what you take is yours.

Why do you not support YouTube video downloads?

A deliberate decision, not a technical limitation. YouTube protects its video streams with a measure that courts have treated as a technical protection measure, and circumventing it carries exposure that no downloader site should take on. YouTube thumbnails are a different matter entirely — those are plain public images with no protection, so we do offer those.

Why can you not download private or follower-only posts?

Those require someone’s logged-in session. We will never ask for your password, session cookie or token, and you should treat any downloader that does as a phishing risk. If a post is not publicly visible in a logged-out browser, it is out of scope here.

A download failed. What went wrong?

Most often the post was deleted, made private, or is very recent and the platform has not finished processing it yet. The error message on screen distinguishes between those cases rather than giving a generic failure. If it persists on a link that definitely works elsewhere, tell us and include the link.

Why is my Reddit video silent on other sites but not here?

Reddit stores the picture and the sound as two separate files and only joins them when you watch in the app. Most downloaders grab the video file alone, which plays perfectly and has no audio. We fetch both and merge them before you download, which is why the file arrives with its sound.

Is the quality reduced?

No. Files are copied, never re-encoded, so what you save is bit-for-bit what the platform served. Where a platform offers several qualities we list them all with their real file sizes so you can choose, rather than deciding for you.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in the browser, with no app. On iPhone, saved files land in the Files app and can be moved to Photos; on Android they go to your Downloads folder. The how-to guides walk through both, including where Safari hides the download it has just finished.

Can I download a whole channel or profile at once?

No, and this will not be added. Individual posts are in scope; bulk copying someone’s entire catalogue is a different activity with a different legal character, and it is the fastest way for a tool like this to attract a complaint.

Still stuck?

The how-to guides cover saving and finding files on each device, supported sites lists what works and what never will, and service status shows whether the extractor is up right now. If none of those help, get in touch.

We do not host any content. All files are fetched directly from the source platform and streamed to your device — nothing is stored on our servers. Download only content you own or have permission to use. If you believe content has been made available in breach of your rights, see our copyright policy.
